This “man”, and as of today this is unconfirmed, walks the streets in Ontario? Makes me extemely proud to be Canadian. Sarnia, don’t you have cage laws for unconfirmed humans? Or better yet, a kill law for we’re not quite sure what he is?

This has gone way to far….. does this man not understand that he is distroying peoples family’s…. not just their dog’s. A family dog, in many cases, are what help keep family’s that are going through hard times together, and in time’s like these, he should be considered a murder and be charged as so.

I will NEVER visit Sarnia, and will provide my fellow dog owner friends and family to do the same.

Way to go city council for keeping that man in his position and keeping the city unattractive as a vacation spot to any pet lover/owner.

This is so disturbing to read. I think these dog owners should sue Brad Loosley for harassment and mental anguish.

He obviously has no compassion for dogs or people and should be excused from his position.

Way to give Sarnia a good name Brad Loosley. Glad this has come to light, maybe something can be done to help these poor dogs.

He has serious issues that need to be addressed by a professional. Brad Loosley’s hunt for “pitbulls” rings similarities of another man in Austria not so long ago.

Scary stuff happening in Sarnia for dog owners and dogs.

It sure didn’t take long to start calling Labradors “pit bull types” – if you own the stocky, blocky-headed, type. I’m glad I don’t live in Sarnia OR Ontario, I have three of these “pit-bull types” in my house right now.

Shame on you Sarnia, for allowing this to continue.
If the mayor and councillors in Sarnia are not in agreement with this bylaw, and are aware of Loosley’s antics, shame on them for not firing him.

This insane action and the others mentioned point out the danger in passing bad and poorly written laws under the guise of *fixing it* later. Fixing a bad law is a bad idea. Legislating someone else’s idea of morality is also a bad idea. To me, this law smells of crafters that just plain hate dogs, being enforced by the same.

This is appalling! I was greatly disturbed when the Ontario act banning “pit bulls” and “similar” breeds was passed because such bans inevitably lead to unfair treatment. I am a US citizen, but have spent a lot of time in Canada visiting Canadian friends and exhibiting in Canadian Kennel Club dog shows. I have always admired Canadians for their sensible and inately fair approach to laws and law enforcement. This act belies that impression, and its enforcement, as demonstrated in these cases in Sarnia, lends itself to unfair and over zealous treatment of dogs and dog owners.

The banning of entire breeds is patently unfair because it does not take into account the behavior of individual members. It is like blaming an entire human ethnic group for the behavior of a tiny minority. It is far more effective to prosecute the DEED, rather than the breed. It is possible to have laws which prohibit owning of dogs wh9o have PROVEN to be aggressive and dangerous, but banning entire breeds and dogs that only look like them is unfair and ineffective in preventing canine aggression against humans.

This is absolutely disgusting! Talk about using the law to their advantage! This proves how insane Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) actually is! Even when one can prove the genetics they don’t believe you! That madman Bryant caused this mess and now someone has to fix it!

While I don’t live in Ontario or Sarnia, this kind of stuff is a great concern across the country because other areas are trying to do the same!

I am so glad I no longer live in Ontario but am ashamed to say I am from Canada when I see news like this.
No compassion or understanding. You would think with the law being as it is so badly written someone would take the time to birng this forward and get changed… dropped … or re written to include that the animals in question have a history of aggression not just look at any dog as being a threat.

If it has 4 legs and a wagging appendage called a tail does it become a “Pit Bull”.

I am embarrassed.
