Dogs, politics, media, and more

And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes the master in its embrace, and his body is laid away in the cold ground,
no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws,
his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death. -- George Graham Vest

Another article about Nackawic

Nice little firestorm for such a small town.  Here’s another article about their anti-pit bull anti-Rottweiler anti-mixed breed bylaw that’s been on the books since at least 2003, but is only being enforced this year.  Interesting that the “specialist” that helped them write this law came from Fredericton, which doesn’t have breed-specific legislation!

Everyone is up in arms about the cost of their re-licensing ($250 instead of $15).  Wait until they realize that their dogs, when on their own properties, must be kept in secure enclosed pens (including a top) and, when not on their own properties, must be muzzled and leashed.

Welcome to the world of legislated bigotry, folks!  Join the club.
