Vick signs with Nike
According to Michael Vick’s agent, the NFL player has re-signed an endorsement contract with Nike, two years after they dropped him for his involvement in dog fighting.
I will be contacting Nike to let them know that, not only will I no longer be buying any of their products, but I will be getting rid of all of my existing Nike apparel.
There is a movement among dog owners across North America to boycott all of Nike’s products.

Do not allow the media and the NFL to gloss this over as a “mistake” for which Vick has served his time. The things that Vick did were not “mistakes”. They were deliberate, sadistic, and vicious acts, performed with forethought and intent. It takes a special type of person to do those things and I, for one, believe that Vick has been “rehabilitated” far too easily.
This is about MONEY. Nothing else. Money for Vick. Money for the Eagles. Money for Nike.
But who drives this? The North American public, that’s who. Both the Eagles and Nike must have done massive market research to determine just how distasteful Vick’s re-signing was going to be! Only when they were SURE that average Joe Public was not going to freak out on them would they have decided to move forward with Vick.
So let’s show them that this particular play is going to backfire, big time.

This is the comment I left with Nike at http://tinyurl.com/yefx4wu – I deliberately didn’t mention Vick or the Eagles or dog fighting, in order to avoid getting auto-deleted by their computers.
“As a result of your latest athlete endorsement contract, I will no longer be purchasing any Nike products and I will be getting rid of all my existing Nike apparel. Considering that, for most of my life, Nike has been my brand of choice, this decision is very significant for me. I only hope that it is significant for you as well.”
you may have to risk the auto-delete and be a bit more specific. They probably have recently signed dozens of athletes.
Then again, they probably only have one signing about which they’re receiving thousands of negative comments!
Further note: Nike is now saying that they have no contract with Vick http://www.chicobandido.com/2009/10/nike-denies-contract-with-vick/
